Barnhill Contracting Company has taken another step forward in strengthening its paving operations with the addition of a new milling machine, supporting the company’s continued focus on self-perform capabilities and long-term, smart growth.
While Barnhill previously acquired a milling machine through the APAC acquisition in 2006, this marks the first new milling machine purchased by the company and reflects an ongoing commitment to enhancing equipment, resources, and operational capabilities.
The machine was first put to use supporting a resurfacing project in Lenoir County and quickly proved to be a valuable asset in the field. With the ability to mill as narrow as two feet and as wide as five feet, it provides the flexibility needed to support a wide range of resurfacing and rehabilitation work.
As Barnhill continues to develop this capability, a key focus will be expanding internal expertise and training additional team members to support operations across the company’s regional divisions.
The addition of in-house milling is one of several efforts underway as part of Barnhill’s broader growth strategy. Alongside advancements in survey capabilities, technology, and training, these efforts position the company to enhance efficiency, improve project coordination, and deliver greater value to clients and communities – the definition of Barnhill Built.
