Values-Based Leadership

Barnhill's Values-Based Leadership Program is an investment in our people to ignite their potential, enhance their well-being, and general high-performance results. Employees enrolled in the VBL Course Curriculum will take various courses assigned through grouped cohorts. They will also participate in an Insights program to help them gain knowledge on how they operate in a work setting.

Values in Action Awards

At Barnhill, living our core values isn’t just talk—it’s how we get the job done and depend on one another. Values in Action Awards are a chance to spotlight employees who don’t just meet expectations with the way they represent our values—they crush them. Nominated by their peers, these standout team members are selected quarterly by a committee with reps from all across the company. It’s our way of celebrating the folks who make Barnhill stronger every day.

Facilitated Mentorship

At Barnhill, we believe in building each other up, both on and off the job. This program gives employees at any level the chance to grow through a partnership between a Barnhill mentor and a protégé. It’s a voluntary opportunity to become a stronger employee and develop your skills. Mentors share their know-how, abilities, and connections, while protégés gain valuable insights and experience. This program is all about forging relationships built on trust, support, and respect.

Barnhill Leadership Academy

This program is designed to build the next generation of industry leaders within the Barnhill Building Group. Over the course of a year, participants dive into specialized training sessions, learning more about key industry topics, leadership principles, and mentoring opportunities. Graduation from the program includes finishing the year with a team project that highlights growth and readiness. We're committed to crafting a strong talent pipeline and this program is a gateway to exponential professional growth for those that are ready to advance, lead, and conquer.

Emerging Leaders – Foremen

This program is for field experts that are ready to be shaped into field leaders within our Civil Group. From a pool of applications across various divisions, those selected will engage in hands-on training, enhancing their leadership, technical skills, and practical expertise. With monthly sessions and targeted additional training, this program is designed to forge a skilled team ready to dig in and tackle the challenges and critical functions of the Foreman role. We're not just filling positions; we're preparing our future field champions to lead with confidence and drive success on the ground.

Industry Training & Committees

Barnhill Building Group has developed an extensive training library to help you gain industry-related knowledge on specific topics. Industry trainings are offered on a monthly basis to ensure employees have the resources they need to succeed. We also offer a wide variety of committees comprised of team members who are consistently challenging themselves. Joining a committee is a great way to develop innovative approaches to problem-solving, finding your passion and creating meaning change at Barnhill.
