Barnhill partnered with East Carolina University to renovate Ballard Residence Hall, creating a modern residential community designed to enhance the student experience. The project transformed living accommodations and common spaces while improving functionality, comfort, accessibility, and long-term durability for campus residents.

DETAILS: The renovation included updated student suites, lounges, gathering areas, laundry facilities, public spaces, building systems, and modern finishes that support student life. The redesigned residence hall provides welcoming environments for studying, collaboration, recreation, and everyday campus living.

SCOPE OF WORK: Barnhill completed a comprehensive residence hall renovation that included demolition, interior reconstruction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, accessibility improvements, common area renovations, student living spaces, laundry facilities, building finishes, and related site improvements while coordinating work within an active university campus.

SOLUTION: The completed renovation provides East Carolina University with a contemporary residence hall that enhances campus life while supporting student wellness, collaboration, and community through flexible living and gathering spaces designed for today’s college experience.
