Will AndersonSon of Jamie Anderson, Corporate Data Entry Specialist Barnhill Family Scholarship Recipient Will plans to attend East Carolina University in the Fall to pursue a degree in Construction Management. He is passionate about hard work, leadership, and learning skills that will help him build a successful career in construction. His goal is to use his education to become a Project Leader and make a positive impact in his community. “Receiving this scholarship has been a huge help for me and my family by easing the financial burden of college expenses. Anthony CastilloRobert E. Barnhill, Sr. Scholarship Recipient Anthony plans to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science while continuing to serve his community. A driven high school senior, he has maintained a strong GPA through Advanced Placement and dual enrollment courses at Lenoir Community College. He was named Junior Chief Marshal for the 2024/2025 school year and received the Kinston Teens Leadership Award. Outside the classroom, Anthony is active in FBLA and the National Technical Honor Society, helping lead community initiatives. He enjoys working on computer science projects, supporting local businesses, and spending time with his family. |
Evan DupreeSon of Allen Dupree, Bulldozer Operator – Rocky Mount Barnhill Family Scholarship RecipientEvan plans to attend North Carolina State University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Crop and Soil Sciences with a concentration in Agronomy. Growing up with a strong appreciation for agriculture and the outdoors has shaped his academic interests and future goals. He is passionate about hunting and fishing, and these experiences have inspired him to pursue a career connected to agriculture and contribute to a field that is essential to our communities and economy. “This scholarship would provide a valuable financial support as I work toward my degree. The cost of college can be a significant burden for my family, and this assistance will reduce that strain while allowing me to focus on my professional development. Camden GrahamRobert E. Barnhill, Sr. Scholarship Recipient Camden plans to attend Hampton University in the Fall to begin his Masters of Business Administration program. He intends to use his education to promote financial literacy and help individuals and families better understand financial literacy and assist with planning for their financial future. He is a graduating senior at Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, where he has earned a 4.2 GPA. He has leadership in and out of the classroom as co-captain of the varsity football team, Vice Chair of the National Honor Society’s disciplinary board, and through involvement in other service and academic organizations. He values personal growth and believes that success is achieved through discipline, perseverance, and a clear sense of purpose. |
Juliana HoltonDaughter of Ryan Holton, Estimator/Project Manager – Coastal Barnhill Family Scholarship RecipientJuliana plans to attend North Carolina State University, where she will pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. She has a passion for painting and writing, and she hopes to one day build a career in political public relations, combining her creativity with her interest in current events and public messaging. “This scholarship is a meaningful support for both me and my family as I begin my college journey,” she shared. “It will help ease the financial burden and allow me to focus on my education—thank you so much!” |
Liam LongSon of Bill Long, Vice President of Information Technology Barnhill Family Scholarship RecipientLiam will be attending East Carolina University in the Fall, where he will be working on his Bachelor’s in Construction Management. He is a graduate of Rocky Mount Academy and enjoys hunting, especially with his dad, spending time outdoors, and watching sports. He has always enjoyed hands-on work and looks forward to building a career in the construction industry. Jillian MartinDaughter of Brad Martin, Vice President of Operations – Barnhill Building Group Barnhill Family Scholarship RecipientJillian Martin plans to attend North Carolina State University for Construction Engineering and is also in the Honors College. Her future goal is to work for a General Contractor and she hopes that is Barnhill! She also plans to obtain her Professional Engineer license. She’s always been a huge fan of building and as a kid, her and her cousins loved to watch Mighty Machines. She feels that her love for construction goes deep! She enjoys sports, reading, and spending time with family. Anyone that knows her knows she is a huge NC State fan. School has also been one of her favorite things and being able to continue her education there is a dream come true. “Receiving this scholarship really helps me to continue my love of learning. Joanna PerezGranddaughter of Guadalupe Garcia, Superintendent – Barnhill Building Group Barnhill Family Scholarship Recipient Joanna plans to attend Johnston Community College to pursue an Associate’s degree in Biology and Radiology, building a strong foundation in a field she has always been passionate about. With a long-term goal of becoming a forensic analyst, she is drawn to the hands-on, investigative nature of the work and is especially interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the human body and the science behind it. “This scholarship would help ease the financial burden on my family and allow me to focus on achieving my goals. Camila Cornejo SeguraRobert E. Barnhill, Sr. Scholarship Recipient Camila is set to attend North Carolina State University, where she plans to pursue a degree in Architecture through the College of Design. Known as the “art” kid, Camila brings creativity and passion into everything she does, and she looks forward to channeling those strengths into her academic work. As a 6-Year Program Thrive Scholar, she is committed to using the program’s resources alongside her strong work ethic to become a first-generation college graduate. Outside of her academic interests, Camila has a deep passion for music, particularly playing the guitar. She plans to continue developing her musical talents at NC State by taking theory and performance classes. Excited to grow both creatively and academically, Camila is eager to begin her journey as a member of the Wolfpack. |
