Innovative High School
Barnhill partnered with Henderson County Public Schools to construct Innovative High School, a modern educational facility located on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College. Designed as a collaborative early college model, the school provides students with access to college resources while fostering innovative, flexible learning environments that prepare graduates for higher education and future careers.
DETAILS: 50,000-square-foot early college high school featuring collaborative learning commons, flexible classrooms, science and career education spaces, student collaboration areas, administrative offices, and technology-rich educational environments located on the Blue Ridge Community College campus.
SCOPE OF WORK: Construction Manager at Risk services for a new academic building including classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, student commons, administrative offices, site development, utilities, parking, landscaping, and campus infrastructure improvements.
SOLUTION: Barnhill delivered a forward-thinking educational facility that bridges secondary and higher education by creating flexible learning environments that encourage collaboration, innovation, and student engagement while supporting Henderson County Schools’ early college model.
