Triangle Tyre Manufacturing Plant

Triangle Tyre site encompasses 400-acres on the Kingsboro Megasite property. The project, let under a progressive design-build contract, allowed NCDOT to bring the contractor in early to offer value engineering and constructability review to expedite delivery. The project encompasses 200 of the total 400 acres, with facilities that mirror one another on the site – one line for passenger tire manufacturing (PCR) and another for truck tire manufacturing (TBR), each measuring 18 acres, with smaller office buildings. The railroad spur splits as it enters the site and allows easy access to the rail line for both lines. Additional work included two employee parking areas and a 1.5-mile access road off Kingsboro Road that ties into US 64 Alternate.
