UNC Wilmington Herbert & Sylvia Fisher Student Center

Next Project

The Herbert & Sylvia Fisher Student Center at UNC-Wilmington includes a student center, a 400-seat movie theater, an open cafe with 60 seats, a full-service kitchen, a game-room, and an 11,400-square-foot bookstore. The project also features support space such as classrooms, offices, and conference space.

The project required extensive underground utility work, including the relocation of all existing utilities under the center of campus to accommodate the Student Center. A Central Energy Plant was also constructed and new underground mechanical piping was installed from the Central Energy Plant to the Student Union. New electrical, data communications, and sanitary and storm sewer piping were installed as well. The Student Union is located in the center of the UNC-Wilmington campus and the project required extensive coordination to maintain access to surrounding facilities at all times.
