CMPD South Division Station

Next Project

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) South Division Station project consisted of a new one-story, 22,435-square-foot facility (main building, storage, and parking canopy) to house the CMPD South Division and an office for the Housing and Neighborhood Services Department. Additionally, the project included secured parking for 140 vehicles and visitor parking for 15 vehicles.Ā  Due to the extensive amount of grading needed to bring the site up to elevation, Barnhill proposed an early site work package to allow for the grading work to be completed prior to bidding out the balance of the project. In addition to an early site package, by lowering the site two feet we were able to achieve significant savings while maintaining the safety intent of having a raised site to deter vehicles from running into the police station. The project achieved LEED v4 Silver certification.
