Richmond Community College Parking Lot Rehabilitation
Barnhill Contracting Company completed the rehabilitation of a parking lot at Richmond Community College, providing a comprehensive pavement reconstruction solution designed to address existing subgrade deficiencies and extend the long-term performance of the facility.
Project scope included full-depth reclamation of the existing pavement structure, stabilization of the underlying subgrade, placement of a new asphalt surface course, replacement of concrete traffic islands, and installation of new pavement markings and signage. The completed improvements enhanced the functionality, appearance, and durability of the campus parking area.
Construction was completed during a limited summer break window, requiring careful coordination to minimize impacts to college operations and prepare the facility for upcoming campus activities. Despite challenging weather conditions, the project team maintained the schedule and successfully delivered the work in time for the college’s return to full activity.
